Well, I make parathas and chila on it. I have never cooked dosa on it. Personally, it works for me as I am a cast iron fan ????
It is a really good cast iron pan; it works just as advertised. arrived quickly. once you get it hot it will stay that way for a long time. heat spread is also good. doesn’t gets hot only in the center. i recommend pre-heating the pan on a high flame and then cook whatever you need on a low flame. this will give you a more even result.
Firstly, I am using stainless steel gas stove. The reason why I am stating this is because, with SS gas stove, the heat spreads out well unlike with glass stove. Secondly, I am used to making dosa in the smaller burner. I have tried cast iron tawas from brands such as Bhagya, Indus valley, dynamite, hawkins and the great Indian kitchen. Now coming to the review of ROCA tawa: Nicely packed. The tawa is very lighter than other brands. Very sturdy. Seasoning is good. I am well used to cast iron tawa, so I had no dosa sticking to tawa issue.
My wife loved it. heats evenly at low flame as well. will recommend everyone to have this. seasoning done was good. using daily for chapati making. delivery was quick too.
Nice and crispy dosas. better than non stick tava. however the tava is heavy as cast iron is heavy but healthy. i have used bergner, vinod, indus valley, but roca is lighter in weight.
Me and my wife are huge cast iron fans, as it gives us the extra iron. This is my first time buying roca, it’s better than the other brands we use. The finish is good, and seasoning done is also great. Will edit this review after a month’s usage.
